EUROPE DIRECT Epirus, EUROPE DIRECT Peloponnese, EUROPE DIRECT Ionian Islands – Ionian University, and EUROPE DIRECT Ionian Islands – PRAXI Network are organising an online information event on rescEU and the European Civil Protection Mechanism, with a focus on their connection to wildfires and the strengthening of European solidarity in times of crisis.

Europe Direct of the Region of Western Greece and Europe Direct Ionian Islands – Ionian University co-organised the event “EPAS Schools in Action” on 22 April in Argostoli, with students from Greece and Austria presenting initiatives on European identity, democracy, media literacy and the climate crisis.

Europe Direct Ionian Islands welcomed students and teachers from Lixouri General Lyceum as part of an educational visit dedicated to the functioning of the European Union, the role of the European Parliament and the opportunities available for young people to participate in European programmes.

On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, EUROPE DIRECT Epirus, EUROPE DIRECT Ionian Islands Ionian University, EUROPE DIRECT Ionian Islands PRAXI Network and EUROPE DIRECT Peloponnese are organising an online event on democracy, the rule of law, press freedom and the contemporary challenges facing information and journalism in Europe.
