The Europe Direct Centre Ionian Islands - Ionian University is a European Information Center hosted by the Department of Digital Media and Communication, in Argostoli, and is addressed to citizens, young people, students, teachers, institutions and the local community of the Ionian Islands.

Its mission is to bring the European Union (EU) closer to citizens, providing valid information on the policies, priorities, rights, possibilities for participation and the opportunities offered by the EU. At the same time, it organizes information actions, educational interventions, events and discussions that strengthen the public debate on Europe and promote the active participation of citizens in European issues.

Particular emphasis is given to young people and education, through collaborations with schools, university structures and local bodies. The aim is to strengthen European education, understand the functioning of European institutions and cultivate the status of an active European citizen.
