The European Parliament is calling for a strengthened and more accessible Erasmus+ programme for the 2028–2034 period, offering more opportunities for education, training and mobility to young people and citizens across Europe.
Key proposals include increasing the programme’s budget to €47.39 billion, providing better support for people with fewer opportunities to participate, and integrating the activities of the European Solidarity Corps into the programme.
The aim is to make Erasmus+ accessible to more people, strengthen skills and youth participation, and contribute to addressing the European Union’s strategic challenges.
The European Parliament’s position will serve as the basis for further negotiations with EU Member States before the new programme is finalised.
